Borg Bender (°1967, Detroit, United States) creates media artworks, photos, sculptures and installations. By parodying mass media by exaggerating certain formal aspects inherent to our contemporary society, Bender uses a visual vocabulary merging several seemingly incompatible worlds into a new universe, he creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles.

His works are saturated with obviousness, mental inertia, clichés and dark jokes. They question the coerciveness that is derived from the more profound meaning and the superficial aesthetic appearance of an image. Borg Bender currently lives and works in China.
